Hatchery International magazine published the following article about our plug and play hatchery systems:

Aquaculture ID has developed a new hatchery system that will streamline installation for small to medium-sized hatcheries (less than one million fry per year).

The “plug-and-play” hatchery system for African catfish and tilapia only needs a local water source and an electrical socket to be up and running. Launched last year, the first plug-and-play hatchery systems are being installed for farmers in Africa and Asia.

“In the past, we always needed to install all hatchery equipment ourselves,” said Bert-Jan Roosendaal, managing director at Aquaculture ID. “Backed up by the clear manuals delivered with the systems, this is simple and can be done by the farmer himself.”

The plug-and-play hatchery system is pre-fabricated and tested at the company’s Netherlands facility before it is delivered to hatchery facilities.

All plug-and-play hatchery systems use recirculating aquaculture systems technology which reduces wastewater, increases biosecurity and controls environmental conditions, the company said.

The systems are available for 110V and 220V electrical sockets.

“Simple to operate, easy to clean, disinfect and maintain,” said Bas Weinans, aquaculture engineer. “And because the concepts are modular, the customer can easily expand his farm in a later stage if desired.”
